Disabled Access Cabs
Travelling around London with a Disability, Wheelchair friendly Taxi Service and Disabled Accessible Taxis.
Traveling or getting around can be very frustrating for disabled people. In the fast-paced city that we live in today, a handicapped individual might get left behind or ignored. The world is fitted for people who are not with special needs. Often, just going out for a simple trip can be a huge challenge for disabled people. Some people who are with special needs are unable to drive; therefore, they need to rely on using public transportation to get them to where they want to go. Many people with special needs choose to call a taxi.
At Corporate Black Cabs we are able to provide a disabled taxi service. A disabled taxi is a vehicle that meets the needs of anyone who needs special assistance. In fact, in the United Kingdom, Parliament passed the Disability Discrimination Act in 1995, which mandated that all taxis that were newly licensed be accessible to people with disabilities. In addition, it required that all taxis be handicapped manageable by January of 2000. This law was slightly modified in 2010 and is now known as the Equality Act. Therefore, all handicapped citizens of the United Kingdom are able to find disabled taxis in London.
Our Vito Black cabs are equipped to deal with people who need wheelchair access. Some even hold more than one wheelchair. They have a ramp to assist getting the wheelchair in the vehicle. Our taxis also have easy to use handles on the doors so that it is easy to get in and out of.
Furthermore, our taxis allow Seeing Eye dogs at no additional charge and they must of course stay with their owner.
